Water In Stardust Shows Alien Life May Be Common Across Universe

Are we alone in the universe? A new look at stardust suggests just the opposite, indicating that life may be universal.

Researchers at Lawrence Livermore Lab in California used electron microscopy to examine interplanetary dust collected from Earth's outer atmosphere. They found that the tiny particles contained pockets of water -- presumably created by interactions between the dust with the so-called "solar wind."

Why is that significant? As John Bradley, director of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the lab and the research leader, told The Huffington Post, "The two key ingredients for life on Earth are water and organic material. These particles arrived at the top of the atmosphere with both of the key ingredients for life."

And that, the scientists wrote in a paper about their research, suggests that as long as conditions are right, the particular type of water production is a "ubiquitous process throughout the solar system."

Since water is one of the main ingredients for life, the finding suggests that life may have arisen at different times and places throughout the universe.

"The implications are potentially huge," Hope Ishii, of the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and one of the researchers, told New Scientist. "It is a particularly thrilling possibility that this influx of dust on the surfaces of solar system bodies has acted as a continuous rainfall of little reaction vessels containing both the water and organics needed for the eventual origin of life."

The research was published online in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on Jan. 21.

Iran and Aliens?

Mining conspiracy-theory-peddling websites based in the United States, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency published a series of bizarre claims regarding Edward Snowden's NSA leaks on Sunday.

A first report published by the news agency over the weekend claimed that documents analyzed by the Russian intelligence services "prove" that U.S. policy is driven by an "alien/extraterrestrial intelligence agenda." The NSA’s electronic surveillance is designed to cover up the alien conspiracy, the report continues, while the extraterrestrials plan for total world domination.

A few hours later Fars published a new story on aliens and the NSA, but this time the aliens are the victims. According to this second Fars report, Edward Snowden is unconsciously transmitting subliminal messages about a "false flag" plot to weaponize space. The report adds that the PRISM surveillance system collects UFO contact data, with the goal of creating a hoax alien invasion to justify space wars and ultimately, domination of the entire solar system.

Yes, that is one heck of morning for the alien news desk at Fars.

Thankfully, Fars’ source material may help us all sleep a little easier. The first story was copied word-for-word from a conspiracy-theorist website called whatdoesitmean.com. The site is registered in the U.S. and describes itself as the site of The Order of Sorcha Faal, an organization supposedly established in Ireland in 588 BCE by the oldest daughter of the King Zedekiah.

The second Fars report is copied from a 6-month-old blog on Examiner.com, another U.S.-based site well-known for outlandish stories.

Fars is known for reproducing some of the wildest stories on the internet and presenting them as bylined reportage. Some of them are funny, like the story of anIranian scientist who invented a laptop-sized time machine (Fars later removed this story). Others are more ominous, such as the report about a nun who claims thatSyrian rebels are selling vials of Christian blood to Saudi clients which was reproduced from a U.S. website best-known for its skepticism of Obama’s citizenship.

This editorial policy has come back to bite Fars in the past. In 2012, the news agency faced widespread ridicule for presenting as fact a story from satirical website The Onion that most rural white Americans prefer Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President Obama.

Alien species have been visiting earth for thousands of years, says Canada’s former defense minister, and they’re worried that humans are going to wreck the planet.

“Something dreadful is going to happen to it if we don’t smarten up and change our ways,” said Paul Hellyer, who served as defense minister in the 1960s.

This video has been sped up, but even at normal speed it is interesting.
Witnesses claim that these lights did not behave like planes or helicopters.
Quite a few sightings turn out to be lanterns with led lights or candles in them,
but these seem to be moving too fast for that, the only way that could happen is in
high wind, there does seem to be wind blowing if you look at the flag on top
of the building, but you would have to match the direction and speed of the wind
blowing the flag with the moving lights, does not seem to match, which makes this
a very interesting bit of footage.

Area 51 exists, says CIA

After years of government denials, the CIA is officially acknowledging in newly declassified documents the existence of Area 51, the mysterious site in central Nevada that has spawned top-secret tools, weapons and not a few UFO conspiracies.

George Washington University's National Security Archive obtained a CIA history of the U-2 spy plane program through a public records request and released it Thursday.

National Security Archive senior fellow Jeffrey Richelson reviewed the history in 2002, but all mentions of Area 51 had been redacted.

Richelson says he requested the history again in 2005 and received a version a few weeks ago with mentions of Area 51 restored.

Officials have already acknowledged in passing the existence of the facility in central Nevada where the government is believed to test intelligence tools and weapons.

Richelson believes the new document shows the CIA is becoming less secretive about Area 51's existence, if not about what goes at the location 90 miles north of Las Vegas.

He said that releasing information on the site "is clearly a conscious decision to acknowledge the name, the location rather than play pretend about the secrecy," the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports .

The references are found in a CIA history of the U-2 reconnaissance program written in 1992.

The history even recalls the first time CIA project director Richard Bissell and Air Force officer Col. Osmund Ritlandt spotted the site, which was then an old airstrip by the salt flat named Groom Lake.

They viewed it from aboard a small Beechcraft plane piloted by Tony LeVier, Lockheed's chief test pilot.

They spotted what appeared to be an airstrip by a salt flat known as Groom Lake, near the northeast corner of the Atomic Energy Commission's (AEC) Nevada Proving Ground.

After debating about landing on the old airstrip, LeVier set the plane down on the lakebed, and all four walked over to examine the strip. The facility had been used during World War II as an aerial gunnery range for Army Air Corps pilots. From the air the strip appeared to be paved, but on closer inspection it turned out to have originally been fashioned from compacted earth that had turned into ankle-deep dust after more than a decade of disuse.

If LeVier had attempted to land on the airstrip, the plane would probably have nosed over when the wheels sank into the loose soil, killing or injuring all of the key figures in the U-2 project.

The document says the group agreed that the location "would make an ideal site for testing the U-2 and training its pilots," according to the history.

The lightweight U-2 spy plane was being built by Lockheed at its top-secret "Skunk Works" plant in Burbank, Calif.

The document says that the CIA then called on the Atomic Energy Commission to add the Groom Lake area to its real estate holdings in Nevada.

"AEC chairman Adm. Lewis Strauss readily agreed and President Eisenhower also approved the addition of this strip of wasteland, known by its map designation as Area 51,to the Nevada Test site," according to the document.

"To make the facility in the middle of nowhere sound more attractive to his workers, (Skunk Works founder) Kelly Johnson called it the Paradise Ranch, which was soon shortened to the Ranch," according to the document.

Several books and articles in recent years had already begun to penetrate the mystery of Area 51.

In 2010, James Noce, who said he did contract security work at the site in the 1960s and 1970s, told The Seattle Times that he used to get paid in cash, signing a phony name to the receipt.

Noce, then 72, told the newspaper that he had attended the first-ever public reunion in 2009 of former Area 51 workers.

"I was doing something for the country," Noce says about those three years in the 1960s. "They told me, 'If anything should ever come up, anyone asks, 'Did you work for the CIA?' Say, 'Never heard of them.' But [my buddies] know."

Area 51 - the secure Nevada military base that is the darling of nuclear activists, conspiracy theorists and UFOlogists - has lately been the site of a big new construction project. 51-watchers are captivated by a pyramid evident in satellite shots of Area 51's nuclear testing grounds (see video here). Wild discussions about the pyramid suggest that the US military is employing ancient and alien technology. The military does little to dissuade them. Who could forget this curiosity from Missouri in December 2011?

Dubious stylistic choices for the architecture of public buildings aside (could it all be Photoshopped?), local station KLAS-TV of Las Vegas reported in February of 2012 that Area 51 has lately featured a huge new construction effort, possibly to build hangars for the latest type of fighter jet, the long-awaited ''Dark Bird' SR-72. Despite the fact that Lockheed engineers told their source that the SR-72 was canceled, KLAS-TV does not believe it and recent headlines confirm the Americans are developing new hypersonic airplanes:

Something big is in the works at Nevada's legendary Area 51 military base. A massive new building is under construction at the top secret location. Aviation experts say there's a good chance that a new, highly classified aircraft might soon be zipping around the Nevada skies.

What kind of aircraft? One possibility is a successor to the SR-71 spy plane, the SR-72.

The SR-71 Blackbird is widely regarded as the greatest airplane ever built. It sliced through the sky at Mach 3 and still reigns, officially anyway, as the fastest plane in history. Groom Lake, also known as Area 51, was home for the Blackbird during its early days. The question is -- will Area 51 also be the location of choice for the development of a successor, and maybe more than one?

A photo of a new building under construction at Area 51 has raised tantalizing possibilities for the civilian researchers who dabble in such topics. No one can say for certain what the building will be used for, but aviation historian Peter Merlin says the one thing we can say is that it's one big hangar.

"It probably measures 275 feet by 600 feet. It's no larger than hangars at other bases, but it certainly is the largest at Area 51," Peter Merlin said.

Satellite photos confirm Area 51 already has two dozen hangars, including some less than two years old. So what's going on out there? 

The hangar could be a central maintenance facility, machine shop and or simulator training center. But aviation writers are thinking more exotic thoughts. For months, there's been speculation in aviation circles about a successor to the SR-71, call it the SR-72. Model airplane companies already have their version of the so called "dark bird," which theoretically could fly twice as fast as the Blackbird. ... 

[Peter] Merlin thinks there are other possibilities also in the works at Groom Lake.

"There are at least seven and maybe as many as eleven manned classified air craft that have not yet been unveiled that have been flying since 1985 and countless unmanned programs as well. Most of these things have been tested there. I know some of the guys that have flown these airplanes," Merlin continued. 

Among the suspects is something called the Black Manta, a stealthy hypersonic craft that might explain the wispy images captured in a few photos around the world. Various black triangle-type craft have been spotted over American military bases and cities for years, some of them huge in size, big enough to require a big hangar.

Aviation journalist Bill Sweetman has long argued for the existence of the Aurora, another plane rumored to have been flown at Groom Lake. Sweetman says black budget figures hint at the existence of the plane, which some have dubbed the SR-75 penetrator. Whichever of these ambitious projects ends up in full development, it's abundantly clear that the testing location of choice for top secret planes is still Area 51. 

Tyche, Giant Hidden Planet, May Exist In Our Solar System

We may have lost Pluto, but it looks like we might be getting Tyche.

Scientists may soon be able to prove the existence of the gas giant, which could be four times the size of Jupiter, according to astrophysicists John Matese and Daniel Whitmire from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The two first proposed Tyche's existence in order to explain a change in path of comets entering the solar system, according to The Independent.

From the The Independent:

Tyche will almost certainly be made up mostly of hydrogen and helium and will probably have an atmosphere much like Jupiter's, with colourful spots and bands and clouds, Professor Whitmire said. "You'd also expect it to have moons. All the outer planets have them," he added.

So how could we have missed such a massive planet in our own solar system?

Well, it's 15,000 times further from the sun than Earth, according to Gizmodo. Tyche (if it does exist) lies in the Oort cloud, the outer shell of asteroids in our solar system.

Despite what the scientists believe they will find in the data (which will be released in April and was collected by NASA Wise space telescope), there is at least one flaw in their theory. Theoretically, a planet of Tyche's size should seriously disturb comets in the inner Oort Cloud, but that effect is yet to have been observed, according to The Independent.

Exeter UFO Festival Canceled

The annual UFO Festival in Exeter has been canceled this year.

Organizers said the reason was Town Hall remained closed for repairs after it was damaged in a fire earlier this year.

The festival is usually held at Town Hall, where a costume contest is held and UFO experts give talks. It draws hundreds of visitors each year.

Festival organizers said they tried to search for another venue, but couldn't find one big enough in the downtown area. 

Organizers said they will hold the festival again in 2014.

Town officials have not said when Town Hall will reopen this year.

We need only look to those who study the subject of UFO's and those who watch the night sky.
Most of those folks do not work for the Gov., so all this talk about disclosure seems odd.

Let's take the subject a bit more serious, there is plenty of existing ufo evidence to show that something is happening in the skies.

The Earth has Two Moons?

Earth has two moons, a group of scientists argues. One is that waxing and waning nightlight we all know and love. The other is a tiny asteroid, no bigger than a Smart Car, making huge doughnuts around Earth for a while before it zips off into the distance.

That's the scenario posited by the scientists in a paper published Dec. 20 in the planetary science journal Icarus. The researchers say there is a space rock at least 1 meter (3.3 feet) wide orbiting Earth at any given time. They're not always the same rock, but rather an ever-changing cast of "temporary moons."
