UFO event cancelled

Exeter UFO Festival Canceled

The annual UFO Festival in Exeter has been canceled this year.

Organizers said the reason was Town Hall remained closed for repairs after it was damaged in a fire earlier this year.

The festival is usually held at Town Hall, where a costume contest is held and UFO experts give talks. It draws hundreds of visitors each year.

Festival organizers said they tried to search for another venue, but couldn't find one big enough in the downtown area. 

Organizers said they will hold the festival again in 2014.

Town officials have not said when Town Hall will reopen this year.

The JUpiter ICy moons Explorer mission

The JUpiter ICy moons Explorer mission, JUICE, will carry a total of 11 scientific experiments to study the gas giant planet and its large ocean-bearing moons, ESA announced today. JUICE is the first Large-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015–2025 programme. Planned for launch in 2022 and arrival at Jupiter in 2030, it will spend at least three years making detailed observations of the biggest planet in the Solar System and three of its largest moons, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa.
